“I think we have sons”

Mommy: What are you going to draw next?
Buckley: I’m going to draw a tree!
Mommy: That will be beautiful!
Buckley: This brown is the trunk! And the green dots are leaves.
Mommy: That will be very nice.
Buckley: And you know what is purple, coming behind it?
Mommy: Flowers?
Buckley: Dar dar dar, da-da-dar, da-da-dar: It’s a Star Destroyer! Look, it’s shooting particles at the tree! All the particles are destroying the tree!
Mommy: I think we have sons…

Astronaut Lab 2009

This year’s Kidsweek (our version of vacation bible school) made a huge impression on the boys. The theme was Power Lab and you couldn’t pick a better thing for our science loving boys. We were singing the songs all week. On Saturday Ethan came up with his theme for next year (Astronaut Lab 2009) and proceeded to have “Kidsweek” over and over again with Isaac as his willing accomplice. It’s been great fun to see the band lead the songs, Ethan teach stories, and everyone enjoy Kidsweek over and over again.

Frog Pond Fellowship

We look forward to Sundays as the day of rest and also as a day to hang out with good friends and enjoy a beautiful day.

Waking up is hard to do

We’ve had some late nights this weekend – we saw As You Like It on the Boston Common on Friday night and got home around midnight and then were lucky enough to get some free tickets to the Bruce Springsteen concert last night. The boys of course stayed home for that one. So this morning we all had trouble getting up and off to church.

David and I drank the coffee but steamed milk does wonders as a wake-up call.

Alex

We’ve been lucky enough this summer to have this super fun guy hang out with the boys.  Sometimes he’s the Death Star, sometimes the Torpedo, sometimes a spanish teacher or artist extraordinaire, but always a great friend to our guys.
